One of the cornerstones of our ministry is the biblical command found in Titus 2:3-5, which says, "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."
In all my years of traveling and attending churches around the world, I have never heard a pastor preach from this passage. Yet I believe the principles of intergenerational discipleship taught in Titus 2 are critical to the health and growth of the church today.
Thankfully, I have experienced Titus 2 discipleship in action through women who have taken the time to invest in my life. And that's just one of the reasons why I love being a part of SAGE - because it gives me the opportunity to return the favor.
