Five Things I Know for Sure

  1. It is better to use deodorant than not.
  2. Brushing my teeth every day is beneficial not only to myself, but to those around me.
  3. That to pass a test, I need to know what it's about.
  4. That to know someone, I have to speak to them.
  5. That if I want my dog to go to the bathroom outside, I had best take him out there.

Okay, so hopefully I know much more than I have written here, but here's the idea.  If we knew all the things I mentioned above and many, many more but never actually put action behind them, what would happen?

We'd all be extremely smelly people with bad hygiene, no friends, and houses full of dog poopy, right? Now that just wouldn't make much sense to us, would it?  I mean, why would we do that if we knew that we had the power to actually be lovely-smelling, clean people?

So now let's think about this. Imagine you had a guide that told you how to quit worrying about every little thing in your life...a guide that told you how to deal with all the people in your life that hurt you, all the things in life that try to pull you down...a guide that could not only give you instructions for how to live, but how to live happy, free, and full of joy...a guide that told you how incredibly amazing you are and just how much you are really worth.

Sounds like a pretty amazing guidebook right?  Sounds like a guide that you would want to follow, right?

The Bible is that guide for us. It has all of these amazing guidelines and stories in it that God put there for us to follow. He didn't just give it to us so we'd have a good book to read when we were bored. He gave it to us to use as a survival guide for our lives here on this earth.

I see so many girls who struggle in their walk with God, so many who just can't seem to understand why they struggle. And I always ask them, "Do you read the Bible or do you follow it?" Reading the Bible and actually following it are very different things. Anyone can read the Bible, but a believer has to LIVE it. Our Christian walk will never be what God intended until we move beyond the point of reading, and get to the point of living what we read.

You girls are the next generation for the cause of Christ.  May you realize the impact that you can have, and be moved to put it into action.
