2010 February 06 If you've ever had the opportunity to go deep-sea fishing, you gain a far greater appreciation for the power that exists out in open water. A small boat in a vast ocean is a scary residence when the wind begins to thrash and the waves begin to crash around you. But in the midst of the storm, God is more than able to calm the chaos. Psalm 107:28-30 says,
In the scariest seasons of our life, we have the same access to God as the fishermen caught in the grips of a sea storm. He has the power to still the storm to a whisper and to hush the waves of the sea. Rather than trying to navigate the murky waters of this life on our own, we have the opportunity to call upon God to guide us to our "desired haven." Maybe today you are in the throws of the worst storm of your life. Maybe you're facing an addiction, grieving a loss, or struggling with a big decision. Cry out to Him today. He is listening, and He has the power to bring you peace in the midst of your storm. Making It Personal:
